Christian Beck

Principal Investigator

Christian Beck is a Professor of Applied Mathematics in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London. His research interests are in Nonlinear Dynamics, Stochastic Processes, and Statistical Physics, including mathematical modelling of complex systems and interdisciplinary applications. He is Head of the Dynamical Systems and Statistical Physics Group at Queen Mary, University of London. He is also Chair of the Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Division of the European Physical Society (EPS).

Vito Latora

Co-Investigator

Vito Latora is a Professor of Applied Mathematics in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London. His research interests are in the structure and dynamics of complex networks, in particular, multiplex networks, temporal networks, social networks, quantitative urbanism, brain networks and the science of success. He is Chair of Complex Systems and Head of the Complex Systems and Networks Research Group at Queen Mary, University of London. He is editor of the Journal of Complex Networks.

Randall Martyr

Researcher

Randall hails from the sunny tropical island of Saint Lucia in the West Indies and joined QMUL as a postdoctoral research associate in November, 2015 on EPSRC Grant EP/K00557X/2, "Optimal Prediction in Local Electricity Markets". His research is in optimisation problems that involve stochastic (random) processes, for example, stochastic control and stochastic differential games. Randall has a BSc in Mathematics and Information Technology (Double Major) from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus; and an MSc and PhD in Financial Mathematics from The University of Manchester.

Iacopo Iacopini

Researcher

Iacopo is a PhD Student in Mathematics at Queen Mary, University of London, currently based at The Alan Turing Institute. He is part of the Complex Systems and Networks Research Group, where he is working under the supervision of Vito Latora and Elsa Arcaute (Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, UCL). His research interests include complex networks and data science, in particular, spatial networks, trade networks, social networks and urban mobility. Before, he was a Researcher at ISI Foundation and Data Science Intern at UN Universal Postal Union. He received his MSc in Physics of Complex Systems from the University of Turin.
